Area: 4500 m²
Year: 2022 Location: Poland

Axis Garden was created as a space where two different perspectives on a garden meet: the need for closeness to nature and the desire for clarity, logic, and order. The essence of the project is not about compromise, but about defining a direction that unites these visions into a coherent whole.

The layout of the garden is free and intuitive – without rigid geometry, guided more by feeling than by symmetry. Entry into the space is marked by an irregular alley that alternately opens and frames views, like a park pathway. The planting in this area draws inspiration from the local natural habitats of oak-hornbeam forests and light-filled oak woods, giving the space a natural, park-like character.

In the representative part, the composition becomes more legible. Stronger lines appear, along with rhythmic repetitions and compact plant forms that emphasize order. Concrete walls, present throughout the garden, define zones and give them structure. The greenery follows the spirit of soft brutalism – restrained in color, focused on texture and form.

The private zone centers around a fire pit – a concrete circle surrounded by lush yet subdued planting. It is the heart of the garden, a place of gathering, where the coolness of the material is balanced by the warmth of shared moments. The surrounding concrete wall both embraces the fire pit and shields the space from outside views.

At the junction of terrace and garden lies a representative focal point – a composition of planters, a water feature, and a plant blob. This is where nature meets architecture, with water softening the material’s rawness through sound and movement, introducing rhythm. At the center of the garden stretches a lawn framed by soft planting. It does not dominate but harmonizes the composition, offering breathing space. Nearby is the functional zone – a vegetable garden and other practical solutions, discreetly integrated into the layout.

Thanks to the glazed facade of the house, the garden is not a mere backdrop but a natural extension of the interior, constantly present in everyday life.

Axis Garden expresses the project’s philosophy. Axis means an axis – not a rigid dividing line, but a guiding idea around which different approaches converge. It is a garden where nature and order do not compete but co-create a unified whole.
