Project: Cabrils Hillside Home, Private Residence, Spain
Client: Private
Year: 2022

Set in the Mediterranean hillside just north of Barcelona, the private family home in Cabrils exudes an honesty in its design language. We have worked to remove clutter and excess elements within its structure to give it a light and airy expression, blurring the lines between inside and outdoors, while creating a natural and comfortable flow through the space.

Project name: Tropical Serenity
Area: 3 000 m²

Welcome to Tropical Serenity — a luxurious outdoor space where bold architecture and soft nature flow as one. Nestled on a terraced hillside overlooking the bay, this garden was designed not to compete with the home’s striking structure, but to hold a quiet conversation with it. Here, nothing is forced. Everything feels like it was always meant to be.

From the very start, the experience is intentional. We relocated the driveway to create a sense of discovery — the house doesn’t greet you immediately, but gently emerges from a backdrop of lush green. Tall trees line the drive, their canopies filtering light and casting ever-changing reflections on the path below.

Climbing vines soften the home’s strong architectural lines, blending walls into the garden. The entrance doesn’t scream for attention — it invites you in.

This garden thrives on contrasts: wilder, almost untamed planting meets a sharp-edged lawn; open views frame private pockets of shade. From every corner, you feel the presence of nature — birdsong, rustling leaves, and filtered sunlight through layered green.

Privacy is woven into the design. Spaces feel hidden yet connected. You won’t find high fences or hard dividers — just intentional planting that cradles each zone with comfort and intimacy. This is quiet luxury at its best.

At the heart of the garden lies the pool area — placed exactly where sunlight pours in and the garden opens to the horizon. Surrounding it, a low planting palette of swaying grasses and soft greens creates movement and peace. The water becomes part of the scenery, not a statement piece, but a natural extension of the land.

A wooden deck offers space to lounge and catch the sun, while never competing with the serenity of the space. Everything here is soft, flowing, and timeless.

On an existing slope, we carved out a relaxed, layered terrace — home to a cozy jacuzzi area and an outdoor living lounge. The layout is guided by the land, not imposed upon it. Wooden platforms placed among plants create an easy, laid-back rhythm.

The jacuzzi zone is tucked into the green, intimate and quiet, with a hidden tap for rinsing off after a garden stroll. There’s no harsh geometry — just the effortless elegance of letting nature lead.

This is a space to live in, not just look at. It’s where coffee tastes better in the morning sun, where kids explore behind tall grasses, where silence feels like luxury, and where every view is framed by something real.

This is Miami outdoor living at its most refined — warm, lush, easy, and undeniably elegant.
